August 2009

Hello Everyone,

I have concluded my personal business and am happy to report that I am back in my Studio once again. It is absolutely wonderful to have resumed my usual schedule!

At present, I am working on the second painting in my 'Vortex Series'. It is still in its infancy, so there is very little to report at this time, but I will provide updates when appropriate.

Our feral cat, Foster, is making slow progress towards becoming socialized. Every little mishap sets him back -- last week it was a severe thunder storm, after which, he refused to leave my Studio for three days... He requires a great deal of patience and understanding, but he is such a special little fellow that I feel certain he is worth the time and effort.

Soon, it will be time for my husband and son to take their annual camping vacation to Northern Ontario. They visit with relatives at the family cottage and then travel even further North to spend some time camping in the wilderness.

Our son, Mike, will be leaving once again to attend school out of town. Although he chose to reside on campus last year, he has opted to take an apartment this year. We will miss him more than words can express, but we are so very proud of him!

Last year, I had a painting successful in a world-wide competition presented by AAOS and eMotion Pictures. This year, they have invited me to take part in their current competition, which will be presented in New Orleans, Louisiana. I will commence work on several pieces to enter in this event very soon.

My family is visiting Toronto this week and we will have the good fortune to meet with a very special and dear friend. We try to arrange to meet for coffee with Dr. Robert B. Salter, at the Hospital For Sick Kids, every time we visit Toronto. He is such a wonderful and inspirational man. He is truly my hero!

I will conclude for now, with the wish that you all have a wonderful Fall season.
